Seeking nominations for the position of Assistant to the District President for Missions and Stewardship


The LCMS Kansas District, by the grace of God, is striving to fulfill three target areas identified by the Board of Directors: 1) Serving in Biblical Unity, Love, and Community 2) Functioning as a Highly Valued Partner 3) Being Faithful and Purposeful in Ministering to People.

Guided by our Triune God who can do abundantly more than we ask or think (Eph. 3:20), we are ready to receive nominations for the position of Assistant to the District President for Missions and Stewardship. This divine call shall be for three (3) years and shall be subject to annual review and reappointment or release every three (3) years. This position shall work from the District Office in Topeka. It is expected that the man fulfilling this position will be visiting congregations at least 2-3 Sundays per month.

Call for nominations: The LCMS Kansas District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant to the District President for Missions and Stewardship. Applicants must be on the clergy roster of Synod (Minister of Religion – Ordained) and must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in professional church work, a major portion of this experience having been in the parish.  The Assistant shall be called by the Board of Directors for three years, subject to annual review.  He shall be accountable to the District President and the Board of Directors through the Boards of Missions and Stewardship. Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: execute the policy decisions of the Boards of Missions and Stewardship; advise the Boards of Missions and Stewardship on a strategic plan for those areas of ministry; provide for Missions and Stewardship education; provide consulting and training services to congregations; and work to establish a District-wide Planned Giving program. 

Candidates must demonstrate a strong desire and ability to serve the District as liaison to the LCMS Offices of National and International Mission.  He must also be willing to live in or near Topeka, KS and work out of the District Office.
